Veterans in South Carolina
I know that no one cares, but its my blog, so I’ll do what I want.
Veterans actually have quite a history of cleaning up the vote, especially in South Carolina. In the late ’40s when all the GIs came back from WWII, a group of veterans actually changed South Carolina politics by organizing fair and honest elections in what was a state entirely controlled by large farm owners and gambling interests. While Greene still seems pretty shady, it is interesting to note the historical context in which he is running.
